A Little Guy Woking in His Big Kitchen

Castle of Dreams

Dear friends,

I hope this will be set a reminder to us to value what is really important in our life! Don’t take your loved ones for granted!

I was sitting on a beach one summer day, watching two children, a boy and a girl, playing in the sand. They were hard at work building an elaborate sandcastle by the water’s edge, with gates and towers and moats and internal passages.

Just when they had nearly finished their project, a big wave came along and knocked it down, reducing it to a heap of wet sand. I expected the children to burst into tears, devastated by what had happened to all their hard work. But they surprised me. Instead, they ran up the shore away from the water, laughing and holding hands, and sat down to build another castle. I realized that they had taught me an important lesson.

All the things in our lives, all the complicated structures we spent so much time and energy creating, are built on sand. Only our relationships to other people endure. Sooner or later, the wave will come along and knock down what we have worked so hard to build up. When that happens, only the person who has somebody’s hand to hold will be able to laugh.

Is anyone buying me a cuppa?

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university Professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the Prof went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said “If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other’s cups.”

“Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn’t change.

“Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.”

So friend, don’t let the cups drive you…enjoy the coffee instead.

Is anyone buying me a cuppa……. ??????

Have a great week ahead my friends…

:-) Friendship (-:

Many people will walk in and out of your life.
But only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.
To handle yourself, use your head.
To handle others, use your heart.

Anger is only one letter short of danger.
If someone betrays you once, it is his fault.
If he betrays you twice, it is your fault.

Great minds discuss ideas.
Average minds discuss events.
Small minds discuss people.

He, who loses money, loses much.
He, who loses a friend, loses much more.
He, who loses faith, loses all.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature.
But beautiful old people are works of art.

Learn from the mistakes of others.
You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.

Friends, you and me…
You brought another friend…
And then there were 3…
We started our group…
Our circle of friends…
And like that circle…
There is no beginning or end…

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is stery.
Today is a gift.
That is why it is called the present.
