Sweet Paste Pork Slices with Water Chesnut


300g pork belly, peeled and sliced

1 big onion, wedged

4 water chesnuts, peeled and sliced

1 red chilly, shredded


2 tbsp light soy sauce

1 tbsp water

1 tbsp cornstarch

Sauce (Mix Well)

1 tbsp sweet bean paste or sea food sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1/2 tbsp light soy sauce

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp Shaoxing wine

4 tbsp water


1. Season the pork slices with marinade for 30 mins. Parboil into hot oil for a moment. Remove and drain well.

2. Heat up 2 tbsp oil in preheated wok to fragrant big onion. Pour in sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Add in sliced water chestnuts and pork slices, stirring constantly over high heat for a few seconds. thicken the gravy with a little cornstarch solutions, stir-fry until the gravy is slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
